- Improved Scam Protection algorithm (10 point check)
- Accept emails matching certain languages, and specific top-level domains
- See popular data brokers and how much data they collect
- Better plans: Pro Single (single use - $9 per month) and Pro Family (up to 5 accounts - $25 per month)
Nothing’s perfect. But I’ll always try my best to be, and do better.
And that’s what this is all about… Be better.
2025 was a crazy year. War, cost of living, push for mass surveillance from governments, a hell of a lot more scams, everyone fighting to get to “know” us better so they “serve” us better, data breaches and many others…
But, I remain hopeful that this year will actually be better. As you know, great things start small.
And that brings me back to Sentrya 2.6
Sentrya started with 2 goals:
1. Keep your personal information private
✅ Check - I think it does this pretty well
2. Keep your inbox free of scams and junk
🤷♂️ Questionable - while it does help clear out your inbox, most of that got replaced with annoying notifications from me… Yes, I know
Let me go over what’s new.
As I said, Sentrya’s Scam Protection had a massive flaw - it replaced the old junk with new junk (i.e. notifications from Sentrya about new senders).
So, I changed it altogether -
No more useless emails cluttering your inbox.
No more annoying notifications.
No more missing important emails.
Now, everything is in either your
Inbox
(your most important senders),
Under review
(new senders that appeared), or
Not important
(for everything else). And the best part, it’s synched with
your actual Gmail inbox.
Scam Protection
The new Scam Protection is split into two: Standard and Advanced.
The
Standard protection
is pretty much the same as before - it keeps senders marked as
Important in your inbox, and everything else gets marked as
Not important.
The
Advanced protection
is where the magic happens. Is more like 4 security layers on
top of each other.
1. Keeps your important senders in your inbox (both subscriptions and personal contacts)
2. You accept emails only in specific languages (🇺🇸 English, 🇪🇸 Spanish or 🇫🇷 French as a start)
3. Accept emails from specific top-level domains (like .com or .net)
4. Use a more complex scam algorithm

Data brokers
With data brokers, everything was pretty clear - they do whatever they can to collect and sell our personal info, and all we have to do is simply deleting it in a few taps.
The problem is that there’s way too many. 1113 to choose from.
And since most of you still only use the Free plan with limited access, you might not get to the more important and bigger data brokers - Like Experian or Oracle or even Spokeo.
To combat this, there are 2 new improvements added:
1. You can see which data broker is Popular - this means that they either collect info from people all over the world, or collect a lot of your data. You can also see which broker has received the most data removals
2. You can Shuffle the results so you can see data brokers at random instead of searching page by page

Since Sentrya strives to sync with your inbox as much as
possible, to avoid the back and forth between your Dashboard
and Gmail (which annoyed me the most), now, you can view your
messages directly in your Dashboard.
Sentrya doesn’t save the message’s content (and I don’t want to), each message is fetched on demand, without saving it in the database or in the app’s memory.

Next, and final point, the Upgrade Tiers.
I understand that the most sought functions are the Scam Protection and Data Broker removal, so why not just focus on that?!
From now on, the Base plan will cease to exist, and you’ll have 2 new ones to choose from:
